Caroline Debansi - Wildlife Artist

Caroline is a self-taught artist who works in a variety of media. She spent many years painting commissioned horse and dog portraits but in 1998 she joined The Wildlife Art Society and became an active member running several regional groups .

Caroline portrays many of her subjects realistically but has now begun taking an exciting and rather different approach to some of her paintings.  Experimenting with colour, form and symbolism these new paintings are imaginative and stylized; some are inspired by her  fascination of the patterns found in nature, while others are emotive interpretations of behaviour or gesture that the artist has observed. Giving full rein to her creativity, each new work is unique. These paintings offer the artist an opportunity to develop certain aspects of a scene which will invite the viewer to see nature from a different perspective.

Caroline finds an endless source of inspiration in the natural world and she has become a keen conservationist supporting many projects through the sale of her work. She is a member of the Marwell International Wildlife Art Society and has work on permanent display at Marwell House. She has traveled to North America, Europe, Scandinavia, West and South Africa.  Each September  Caroline visits Africa as tour leader on a trip headed by International wildlife artist Pip McGarry. The trip is for artists and photographers who wish to experience the true sense of wilderness one can still find in northern Botswana.(See Photographs)

Caroline has participated  in the artists-in-residence program with fellow artist Alison Ingram at the Nature in Art Museum. See links to visit the museum on line.
